Brief Introduction to Angular Contact Ball Bearings
Angular contact ball bearings have high limiting speed. They can carry radial load and axial load simultaneously, and carry only axial load as well.
The axial loading capacity of angular contact ball bearing is determined by contact angle. If the contact angle is increased, the axial loading capacity is increased.

Main Types of our Angular Contact Ball Bearings

1. Single row angular contact ball bearing
Single row angular contact ball bearings can be divided into separable type and inseparable type.
1.1. Separable type
S70000 type is the basic model of separable single row angular contact ball bearing. SN70000 type is the type whose inner ring is separable. Its inner ring and outer ring can be installed separately, so it is quite suitable for use in the place where installation is restricted.
Four point contact ball bearing is also separable bearing. QJ0000 type has dual semi inner ring and QJF0000 type has dual semi outer ring. Their contact angles are both 35°. The balls and rings contact at four points when the bearing does not carry any load or only carry radial load. When the bearing only carry axial load, they contact at two points. The bearing can carry bidirectional axial loads. Furthermore, this four point contact ball bearing can also bear moment load. It has the functions of single row angular contact ball bearing as well as the functions of double row angular contact ball bearing. Only when the balls and rings contact at two points, can the bearing work normally.
1.2. Inseparable type
The inner ring and outer ring of inseparable angular contact ball bearing can not be installed separately.
There are mainly three kinds of structural styles
Contact angle α=15°, counter bore is on outer ring, and the bearing is 70000 C type,
Contact angle α=25°, counter bore is on outer ring, and the bearing is 70000 AC type,
Contact angel α=40°, counter bore is on outer ring, and the bearing is 70000 B type.
Single row angular contact ball bearings, except four point contact ball bearings, can only bear unidirectional axial load. They will bring about extra axial force when bear radial load. At that time, there must be corresponding reverse radial load. Thus single row angular contact ball bearings are usually used in pairs.
2. Double row angular contact ball bearing
Double row angular contact ball bearing can bear radial load and axial load simultaneously as well as moment load, inclining to radial load. It can limit the bidirectional axial displacement of axis or housing. The contact angle is 30°.
3. Paired mounting angular contact ball bearing
Paired mounting angular contact ball bearing can carry not only radial load and axial load simultaneously, inclining to radial load, but also pure radial load.
It is composed of two sets of single row angular contact ball bearings which are of the same specifications. The two single row angular contact ball bearing can be configured in three ways. For more information, you can refer to the diagram.
Tandem arrangement can only carry unidirectional radial load. The other two configurations can carry radial loads from any direction.
This kind of bearing is usually matched and assembled in the factory. The collar and steel balls of the assembled bearing are in a state of axially preload. This helps improve the stiffness and rotating accuracy of the bearing.

Permissible angle of inclination
The allowed gradient between the inner ring and outer ring of angular contact ball bearing is limited. Permissible angle of inclination is determined by internal clearance of the running bearing, the size of bearing, the interior design of bearing, and the force and moment acted on the bearing. The maximum permissible angle of inclination is based on the condition that overhigh extra stress will not generate inside the bearing. If there is angle of inclination between inner ring and outer ring, the using life of bearing will be shortened, the operating accuracy will be declined and the running noise will be high.

Tolerance and Clearance
Various tolerance grades are available as per the requirement. The tolerance of universal type angular contact ball bearing is 0 Grade, 6 Grade and 5 Grade. The tolerance of paired mounting angular contact ball bearing is mainly 4 Grade and 2 Grade.
The clearance of single row angular contact ball bearing depends on the requirement of contact angle.
In general, these bearings are used in pairs, triplex sets, quadruplex sets or multiplex sets.
