Taper Roller Bearings

Taper Roller Bearings

Descriptions of Taper Roller Bearings
Taper roller bearing is a kind of separable bearing, whose cone assembly is composed of inner ring with rollers and cage. Its inner ring and outer ring can be mounted separately. Tapered rollers are arranged between the raceways on inner ring and outer ring.
Taper roller bearings are mainly used to carry the combined (axial and radial) loads, inclining to radial load. The radial loading capacity of the bearing is up to the contact angle α and will increase with the increase of α.
The tapered roller bearings generally adopt sheet stamping cage. Welded pillar cages with pillar holes on the rollers are also available upon request for large bearings.

Different Types of Taper Roller Bearing
As a professional taper roller bearing manufacturer in China, we can produce many kinds of taper roller bearings, such as single row taper roller bearings, double row taper roller bearings, and four row taper roller bearings and so on. Both metric system and British system taper roller bearings are available.
1. Single row taper roller bearing
Single row taper roller bearing can only limit unidirectional axial replacement of axis or housing and carry unidirectional radial load. An axial component force will be generated when the bearing is carrying radial load, so another bearing which can take reverse axial force is needed to balance the load.
2. Double row taper roller bearing
Double row taper roller bearing can carry bidirectional axial loads simultaneously. It can limit the bidirectional axial displacement within the axial clearance. This kind of bearing is suitable for medium or high speed.
We can also provide double row taper roller bearing with special axial clearance for our customers.
3. Four row taper roller bearing
Four row taper roller bearing has the most advantages of double row taper roller bearing. Their difference lie in that four row taper roller bearing can carry larger load and has lower limiting speed. Our four row taper roller bearings are mainly used in rolling mill and other heavy-duty equipment.

Calculation of Minimum Radial Load
In order to avoid the detrimental sliding movement (between rollers and raceways) caused by centrifugal force when the bearing is operating at high speed, the bearings must bear a certain minimum radial load.
The value for minimum radial load can be calculated according to the following formula:
Fr'=0.02Cr
1. Dynamic equivalent load:
1.1. Single row taper roller bearing
P=Pr                    Fa/ Pr≤ e
P=0.4Fr+YFa     Fa/Pr>e
When single row taper roller bearings are used in pairs (their basic dimensions can be different), the extra axial force (S) caused by radial load should be included in the calculation of dynamic equivalent load. In this case, the value can be calculated approximately as follows: S=0.5Fr/Y.
1.2. Double row taper roller bearing and four row taper roller bearing
P=Pr +YFa              Fa/ Fr≤e
P=0.67Fr+Y2Fa     Fa/Fr>e

2. Static equivalent load
2.1. Single row taper roller bearing
Po=0.5Fr+YoFa     If Po<Fr, then Po=Pr
2.2. Double row taper roller bearing and four row taper roller bearing
Po=Fr +YoFa         Fa/Fr≤e
These coefficients such as e, Y, Yt, Y2, Yo can be seen in the parameter list.

Our taper roller bearings have high accuracy, excellent loading capacity and long operating life. They are extensively used in cars and other vehicles for supporting radial load and axial load.

In addition to taper roller bearing, SBI also supply cylindrical roller bearings, thrust ball bearings, insert ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, slewing bearings and other bearings.
We have passed ISO9001:2000 quality system certification, so you can use our bearings securely.
